There seems to be no end to where technology can take us. We all think nothing of using home PCs and the Internet these days and if we are tired of using contacts or eyeglasses in many cases we can just have laser eye surgery performed to eradicate the problem.

It is no secret these days that laser eye surgery can be in many cases a very good way for people to forego the struggle of having to live with bad eyesight.

On the other hand, like any other medical procedure or treatment, there are complications that can take place when having laser eye surgery.

Aside from the already publicly known risks in laser eye surgery, here are some of the other more dangerous rarer complications that are usually not talked about.

Possible complications that can take place in laser eye surgery

We’ve all heard about over and under correction associated with laser eye surgery, maybe some have heard of flap wrinkles too, but it is more than likely that you will not have heard of some of the more dangerous laser eye surgery complications such as central corneal Islands in the eyes.

In some cases the laser used during surgery doesn’t remove the tissue in a uniform manner and so areas of tissue end up raised up and form Central Corneal Islands. Luckily only 1% of patients generally suffer from this.

Your doctor may simply prescribe corrective contact lenses to cure this problem or you may be able to have more surgery to attempt to correct the problem.

Another complication can be DLK (diffuse lamellar keratitis). This generally happens when certain foreign bodies become trapped in the corneal flap.

Because of this, the patient could experience pain, blurred vision, sensitivity to light, or have the ongoing sensation that there has been something trapped inside his or her eyes.

When this occurs the patient’s doctor will in most cases subscribe an oral or topical medication and this should cure the problem.

Epithelial in-growths can grow under the patient’s corneal flap and in doing so cause significant vision problems.

Corneal ecstasia is a complication that takes place due to surgeon error. Essentially in these cases the surgeon either removes too much corneal tissue or he or she makes to bigger incision during the flap creation process.

At this moment there is not much that can be done when this complication takes place, other than a corneal transplant.

Although all of these complications can take place, the reality is that they are very rare. Before deciding whether to have laser eye surgery performed one should research all the available data on these complications and then make up their decision whether or not laser eye surgery is worth the risk for them.

SUN KISSED This look is beautiful for a summer wedding. Celebrity example: Jennifer Lopez Begin with right foundation for your skin tone or skip straight to the Concealer Palette. Help with complexion by a glow mix a little Shimmer Tint in Bronze with your foundation or the Concealer Palette. All you’ll need is the Summer Glow Trio. The carefully sel;ected shades of this Trio have been specially made to compliment and favor your complexion. The (matte) Bronze adds warmth to your complexion without looking shiney. The Bloom (apricot/pink) does just that, brings a gentle flush of colour. And the Glow (shimmery soft gold) accents and highlights with a subtle sheen. It comes with a uniquely designed multi retractable brush. The brush offers two settings so that you can get a variety of effects from your Trio.

How to get a Sun Kissed Look: - Start by applying a hint of colour to your complexion with the bronze shade Use the Multi brush open to the maximum setting to lightly dust all over your face. Don’t forget your neck. Put a little extra where the sun hits naturally, cheeks, bridge of the nose, above the arch of the brows. Now set the Multi Brush to demi and add a little on your eye lids.

To create sculpted cheeks - keep the brush on the demi setting and apply the bronze shade just down below your cheek bones. Using bronzer on its own can look marvellous but I wanted to give that extra Wow! which is why I’ve included the other 2 colours Bloom & Glow. - Add a hint of colour with Bloom. Using the Multi Brush set on full, smile and sweep Bloom over the apples of the cheeks.

Eyes- Then set the Multi Brush to demi and add a little Bloom to your eye lids. -Next use the Multi Brush on the demi setting and sweep Glow under the arch of brows, along the top of the cheek bone and along your nose. Finish up with Waterproof mascara.

- Complete this look with a touch ofIncognito Lip Shine or one of the delicious shades from the Fudge Flip Kit.

Top Tip: To keep your brush clean simply swipe over a tissue.

EVENING or Glamorous LOOK A great look, that’s glamorous and striking without being over the top. Celebrity example: Catherine Zeta Jones. Commence with right foundation for your skin tone, or skip straight to the Concealer Palette. The key to this look is BLENDING. Use either the applicator or your fingers to apply the Caviar shadow just to your lids. A light application will give you a soft charcoal effect while layering will create a more deep dramatic look. Put a bit more emphasis on the outer corners and way along the base of your lower lashes for a smoky look. If your eyes are deep set then extend the charcoal shade slightly above the lids to get that soft smoky look. Now add some Wow!! with the Black / Silver Glitter Pencil applied over the Caviar Shadow and blended with your finger to achieve a twinkling effect. Next sweep the Champagne Shadow just below the arch of your brows to accent and lift. Finish off with a generous amount of black Waterproof mascara. CHEEKS - Cheeks are subtly sculpted with a flush of colour. Apply three dots of Cinnaberry just under the cheek bones and to the apples of the cheeks. To achieve a more chiselled look, accent the top of your cheek bones with a touch of Champagne. LIPS - Lips are emphasised with a seductive red. Classic Timeless Bride

Classic Timeless Bride Begin with the right foundation for your skin tone if you need it, or skip straight to the Concealer Palette To give your complexion more radiance apply Skin Illuminator in Champagne before foundation or concealer Then create your entire look with the: Timeless Face Palette I have chosen each shade in this palette to compliment every skin tone, eye colour and age so you can wear them with confidence. The palette consists of 5 products: 1 powder blush in Rose Glow, 3 eye shadows in Chiffon, Sheer Taupe and Bitter Chocolate and Lip Tint Plus in Hint of Tint. The palette also comes with a double ended brush for eyes and lips Let’s Commence with eyes. I’ve brought together 3 timeless shades. The palest called Chiffon is a beautiful cream shade with a slight sheen. Use this as a wash of colour over your lids up to the brow bone to brighten and refresh your eyes. It’s also the perfect base colour for a professional eye make-up look. The mid-tone shade `Sheer Taupe’ is one of those chameleon like shades which takes on it’s own individual shade to suit you. Simply brush it over the lid to the socket line, then blend it upwards and outwards to give your eyes a touch of subtle colour. The darkest shadow of the three is `Bitter Chocolate’ especially chosen for its sheer texture. This means you can wear it as subtly or strongly as you want - just simply layer to the intensity of colour you want. This shade is also ideal for defining your socket line or lining your lashes. 5 steps to classic eye make-up You can wear each of the eye colours alone or blend them together for a more sophisticated look. 1 Dust the surface of your eyelid with Universal Yellow Powder to ensure an even, oil-free base. 2 Apply Chiffon over your eyelid up to your brow bone. 3 Smooth Sheer Taupe over your lids up to the socket and blend this upwards and outwards with the brush. When you look straight ahead this shade should appear just above your socket line and disappear into the Chiffon shade. 4 Take the darkest shade Bitter Chocolate on the brush and make a C shape in the outer corners to open up your eyes. Then, blend this shade lightly along the socket line, so the colour fades away at the inner corners. Take a cotton bud and smudge Bitter Chocolate along your lower lashes. Again, graduating from dark in the outer corners to invisible in the inner corners. 5 Use a cotton bud to dot Chiffon in the inner corners of your eyes and Finish up with Lush Mascara. Rose Glow Blush This is the perfect colour for giving your face a lift. Over the years, I’ve found that women of all skin tones benefit from warm pink blush. It gives a healthy look like you’ve been out for a brisk walk. Tips on where to apply your blush * Let’s Begin with classic way. Apply your blush just slightly neath your cheek bone, from the apple blending up ward towards the ear. This will give a slightly sculpted effect. Great if you want bring out your cheek bones, and/or thin your face. You can also apply blush to the apple of your cheeks. To find your apples simply smile, and put your blush on the ’roundy’ bit. This gives a really fresh glow, which looks great on almost everyone.

* Don’t put blusher too high up because this can go onto the eye area and close up the space between your eyes and cheeks. Lip Tint Plus Lip Tint Plus in Hint of Tint completes the Timeless Face Palette. This sheer lip treatment that has a hint of rosy colour and is packed with vitamins A, C & E to protect your lips from damage and Avocado, Camomile, Jojoba and Sweet Almond Oil to condition your lips as you wear it. Smooth it on anytime with your fingertip or with the lip brush. Wear it alone for just a hint of colour or with any of the gorgeous lip glosses. Finish off with Waterproof Mascara.
